Battle of Wills idea: Mechanical legends, to simulate the connection issues you guys have had this match, lol.

I wish we could have a VS version of EDH, dunno how it’d work without being too similar to Big Deck.

We tried a variant of VS a couple months ago that was an attempt at EDH. You selected an affiliated 8/9/10 drop as your ‘leader’. Then, your deck had to be BYOT to the affilation of the leader. (This wasn’t so great) Your leader started in play, but he couldn’t do anything (attack/block/reinforce) except that his text box was in effect. An opponent could attack a leader at any time, but if you did, it became an actual character regardless of the cost of the leader. It was a fun idea, but some of the textboxes are ridiculous on the big characters.

We also talked about doing something similar, but basically the only way to win was to KO the opposing leader. This was tricky too since you simply packed KO effects and waited for turn 8.

I think the closest thing I’ve seen to EDH is our local version of Big-100 since we start with 25 endurance/player, and have some unique house rules about initiative and who can be attacked. We usually play 4-person, so that’s 100 endurance, which guarantees turn 12+. We also don’t allow characters that cost more than 8 (since they win games). In the end, you tend to see some really fun interactions, and some great combat phases where Danger, Martian Manhunter, and Eclipso are fighting against the JLI Dr Fate, Gog, and a Boost 6 Atlas. Good times.

Very nice win comet. But I do agree with Squire that his decklist isn’t that great. Although I do disagree with him about the deck being unbeatable in this format. XHAUST won’t allow it to attack and since Alpha Force can’t burn it can’t win against it. I didn’t design XHAUST but whoever did was just evil=P.

Not to nit pick but during game 2 he played it from his resource row. Thor would not have been stunned.

And it happen again during the restart on the new server. The game would have been way different with an extra guy goin into turn 4 because Cable could not stun back Cap. I chalk it up to not knowing the cards though. And as Homer stated TBAWtD is good for stun backs, the sad part is that it is but only if you play it from your hand.

But I guess I agree it wasn’t the best built deck, so sue me. :)
